In a "guerrilla warfare" approach to get this body of work seen, I sent the EXHIBITION IN A BOX out to unsuspecting museums and then claimed to have had an exhibition there. In early July the first of three boxes was sent to the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. August 3, 1995 UPS delivered EXHIBITION IN A BOX to The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Center for Contemporary Arts of Santa Fe. I am in no way claiming that the receiving museum either organized or responded to the work, just that it had gotten inside the door. |
